Living in Florida, I am aware that fall and winter weather is nonexistent however, I can’t help but prepare my closet for the new season. The way I prep my wardrobe for any season is by watching the runway and getting my inspiration from there, then, I like to see what I already have in my closet that I can utilize and what pieces I am missing that I need to purchase.
I have been on a journey of buying items more intentionally so this strategy works well for me. After analyzing the fall/winter 2023 runways, here are 5 fashion trends that will be the backbone of my fall 2023 wardrobe:
RED
Red is EVERYWHERE this season which makes me happy because it’s always been my favorite color. Luckily, I had purchased a few red pieces last year that I wore during NYFW and it was a huge hit. I will gladly be rewearing them this season but styled differently. My red coat and jumpsuit were from Naked Wardrobe. I am also on the hunt for a red pair of heels that I can rock with a neutral outfit.

FULL SKIRTS
Forget the micro mini skirts and welcome the A-line silhouette. These full skirts are such a chic transitional piece. You can style it with a basic tee and sneakers or dress it up for brunch or even a night out! I did not think I would vibe with the full skirt trend until I tried one on and fell in love! Something about it makes you feel so grand.

BALLERINAS
Ballet flats are officially back and they have created quite the buzz for this fall season. Personally, I prefer the pointed toe ballerinas. I feel like they elongate your feet. I recently bought a white pair of Loro Piana ballet flats and I must say, it’s been my favorite purchase for this season! White ballet flats are also very trendy right now. They are delicate, chic, and timeless.

WORKWEAR WITH A TWIST
Think vests, pinstripes, power blazers, and even ties! I still remember when my mom used to rock some crystal embellished ties with her blouses and I can’t believe this trend is back now!

90s minimalism
90s minimalism is all about simplicity, neutral colors, sharp tailoring and high quality fabric. I’ve upgraded my closet to some timeless and minimal pieces such as a white tee, jeans, a trench coat, simple day time dresses and of course a pretty black dress. I recently purchased one from NA-KD that can be worn during the day or night. It’s low rise which is in right now so you can say I hit two birds with one stone.
