Recently, one of you guys asked me on Instagram for a link to my nursery blog posts and I realized I never shared my son’s nursery on here. Whoops. To my defense however, the nursery was 75% complete so I wanted to wait until it was 100% done before I did a nursery reveal but our move to Dubai came up so we ended up putting everything on pause. A year later, here is a breakdown of what we did so far for Aleo’s jungle themed nursery along with helpful decor tips.
Even before I got pregnant with Aleo, I knew I wanted to do a jungle themed nursery for my baby boy. I wanted to have more of a modern twist to it and incorporate some gold accents here and there. Aleo’s room is pretty massive with high ceilings so regardless of how much furniture pieces I added, it was going to look empty. Here is a photo of how the room looked with just the crib, plush giraffe, and rocking chair. Pretty disappointing if you ask me.
That’s where the wallpaper came in handy. I bought mine from Munks and Me after spending hours trying to find the right wallpaper, this was the chicest looking wallpaper on the market. It added so much dimension to the room and took it to a whole other level.

The Furniture
I prefer buying separate furniture pieces that tie the whole room together rather than a bedroom set. I went for an acrylic bed from Babyletto, a grey rocking chair that I matched with a grey ottoman that had gold trimming on it. I LOVE the mixture of gold and grey. I love it so much that this ottoman was my first furniture purchase for Aleo’s nursery.
For the dresser, I went for a modern dresser from Target. I just replaced the handles to gold handles and it looked so much more luxe.

The Accessories
The perfect accents to his dresser included: Giraffe night light, Skip Hop changing pad, wipe warmer, and a gold mirror from Kate + Laurel Hogan that I hung right on top of the dresser. I also added an elephant laundry hamper on the side of the dresser and a white diaper pail.
To add coziness to the floor, I went for an 8×10 shaggy white rug from Amazon. On that rug, I had my lovevery playmat which I 100% recommend!
To accessories the crib, I added custom jungle bed sheets from Etsy and ordered their matching pillow to place on my rocking chair. The Melissa & Doug jumbo giraffe was a must as well and I placed it right by the crib. I also purchased the jungle print DockATot for my son to nap and lounge on during the day and added a gold pin on it from Etsy.
To organize some books and other jungle inspired accessories, I bought an acrylic inspired bookshelf I found off of Wayfair.
Tip: Acrylic furniture don’t take up as much space in a room like other furniture pieces do so if you are decorating a small space, opt for acrylic pieces.
Overall, I am incredibly happy with how the room turned out and loved every moment I spent with my son in it.
