Turning 33 never looked so good! The theme? His face! From custom placemats to party hats and cupcakes shaped like the big 33 because adult parties deserve more than just wasted cake! Every detail I had celebrated him.
When planning such events, the first thing I do is come up with a concept. I knew for this birthday I wanted to give him a new experience. We have been to hibachi dinners before but never hosted a private one in my backyard. Organizing one for him and inviting some of his closest friends was the main focus point. I began the invite process a month in advance just to make sure his out of town friends and family can fly in. I secured the date and location.
After that, I work on completing the other elements which include: The color scheme or theme, an entertainment option, and a photo opportunity option.
For entertainment, I included a cigar station, a live hibachi experience for him and his friends, and a photo backdrop with a balloon garland. He always stresses that he is getting old when in fact 30s are the new 20s so I thought it would be fun to have OLD AF as cake toppers. To add more personalization, a custom 33 4-inch cardboard sign was a must. It served as the backdrop for the cupcakes and also a sweet memory of him throughout his childhood and adult life. You can create a similar cardboard through a local print shop.

Tip: ALWAYS ask your vendors to complete their work at least two hours before the event start time. My event was at 530pm but I told my vendors it starts at 4pm that way I ensure everything is set up on time.
